Following the release of Juice WRLD’s posthumous album, “Legends Never Die”, fans have some thoughts about the new version of his track: ‘Man of the Year’. And you know the Internet – if you have a thought, you have a place to be heard.
Fans and listeners of Juice WRLD’s music took to social media to address the new version of ‘Man of the Year’, the second last track on his posthumous album. Offering a bag of mixed reviews, many stated how they were unhappy with the new version that features changed verses and new instrumentals. While that was the main focus of some complaints, many were just upset that they weren’t given a heads up about the new track.
‘Man of the Year’ is a track that uses irony, grungy instrumentals and a whole lot of introspection to talk about anxiety and insecurity. Giving fans a glimpse into what he was going through, Juice WRLD’s new album is an overwhelming reflection of his emotions and world. And while many are happy just to receive a posthumous collection of tracks, it seems that criticism will always continue.
Ally Lotti Defends Juice WRLD
And if the Internet is a space for everyone, that includes Juice WRLD’s girlfriend, Ally Lotti. She took to an Instagram live to air out her opinions on people’s criticisms and let’s just say, she was not having it.
From the get go, Ally explained that the second version is the real version; the one that Juice wanted. In the explosive rant, she says: “This version is exactly the f**king version Jarad wanted. This is what he wanted you guys to have.” She continues, saying, “If you don’t want what Juice wants, okay, I get that. You don’t want what Juice wants.”
Speaking of all the effort and time it took to complete the track in Juice WRLD’s vision, Ally explained: “Unappreciative. Whatever parts of my heart I have left, you have ripped away”.
The feedback and criticisms were further addressed by Lil Bibby, CEO of Juice WRLD’s label, with a statement saying he has “changed it back now”.
And while this cycle of criticism continues to spiral, Juice WRLD’s album continues to receive love and critical acclaim from all over the world.
