Khloé Kardashian Was Relieved Tristan Thompson Moved to Cleveland

When Tristan Thompson announced he was returning to the Cleveland Cavaliers, Khloé Kardashian felt a sense of relief. This was evident during the season 5 premiere of ‘The Kardashians’ on 23rd May, where Khloé visited her ex as he prepared for his move to Cleveland, Ohio.

In a candid conversation with the cameras, Khloé compared Tristan’s departure to “a bird leaving the nest” and humorously expressed her hope that he wouldn’t return to Los Angeles anytime soon. Reflecting on the past years, Khloé described them as very heavy and somewhat traumatic, feeling she hasn’t had much time to heal.

She looked forward to focusing on herself during Tristan’s absence, aiming to be more present and invest energy in things that bring her happiness.

When Khloé asked Tristan about his feelings regarding the move, he described it as “bittersweet” due to leaving his younger brother, Amari, behind. Khloé has been helping Tristan care for Amari since he became his legal guardian after their mother’s passing in January 2023.

Khloé also recalled the stress when Tristan temporarily moved in with her during his home renovation. She felt overwhelmed and anticipated feeling relieved with his move to Cleveland, emphasising her need for personal space. 

During a visit to their daughter True’s room, Tristan joked about connecting their houses with a tunnel, but Khloé, unimpressed, rolled her eyes, expressing to the cameras her frustration about always needing to be on guard to avoid giving false hope.

Khloé and Tristan’s relationship, which began in 2016, has been tumultuous, marked by multiple instances of Tristan’s infidelity. Despite several attempts to reconcile, including one after Tristan fathered a child with another woman while he and Khloé were expecting their second child via surrogate, Khloé has repeatedly stated she has no intention of rekindling their romance. 

Setting boundaries has become crucial for Khloé to prevent falling back into old habits. She keeps interactions with Tristan brief and focused on their children, maintaining clarity about her intentions. New episodes of ‘The Kardashians’ are available on Hulu every Thursday at 12 a.m. ET.
