Adria Arjona’s Power Shines in The Success of ‘Hit Man’

Adria Arjona’s new movie, ‘Hit Man’, is a resounding success, but she’s trying not to dwell on it. The Richard Linklater feature stars Glen Powell as an undercover fake killer for hire and Arjona as a woman attempting to solicit his services. The film first premiered to rave reviews at the Venice Film Festival and was later acquired by Netflix out of the Toronto Film Festival in one of the year’s largest deals.

Arjona grew up in Mexico City and Miami and has been acting professionally for a decade, with notable roles in ‘True Detective,’ ‘Andor’ and HBO Max’s remake of ‘Father of the Bride.’ This summer marks a pivotal moment in her career. After ‘Hit Man’, she will be seen in Zoë Kravitz’s directorial debut, ‘Blink Twice,’ fulfilling a long-held dream as Linklater has been one of her favourite filmmakers.

While her life seems all very Hollywood, Arjona emphasises the importance of travelling with friends and family to stay grounded. Her mother joined her for the Austin premiere of ‘Hit Man’ and her aunt and two best friends were part of the New York press circuit. “My people keep me humble,” she says with a laugh, “because no one makes fun of me more than they do.”

Despite the whirlwind of her career, Arjona remains focused on her craft and the people who matter most to her. She acknowledges the potential pitfalls of fame and strives to maintain a balanced perspective. “I’m grateful for the opportunities and the recognition, but I always remember where I came from and the support system that got me here.”

Her approach to managing success is a testament to her resilience and self-awareness. By surrounding herself with those who know her best, she navigates the pressures of Hollywood with grace and humour. “It’s essential to have people who keep you grounded and remind you of who you are outside of the glitz and glamour,” she reflects.

As Arjona continues to rise in her career, she remains committed to her roots and the values that have shaped her journey. With a busy schedule and a bright future, she looks forward to new challenges and experiences while staying true to herself. “The journey is just as important as the destination, and I’m enjoying every step of the way.”
