There were albums, movies, merchandise, high-profile heartbreak when Geri Horner, neé Halliwell, left the band in 1998 and one epic reunion at the 2012 Olympic Games.
They also had an impact in the fashion industry. Their signature outfits as Scary, Sporty, Baby, Posh and Ginger Spice filtered into street style, including leopard print catsuits (Mel B), athleisure (Mel C), platforms (Emma Bunton), streaky highlights (Halliwell) and LBDs (Victoria Beckham).
