Celebrating 20 Years of Legally Blonde

‘Legally Blonde’ changed lives and gave the ‘pretty girl trope’ a new perspective altogether. Gone were the days when pretty, ‘feminine’ girls were considered dumb or mean; Elle Woods brought in a wave of beauty, brains and femininity all together. She taught the viewers multiple things but on the 20th anniversary of the movie, let’s take a look at a few of them!

If you can dream it, you can do it. It’s only a matter of time, hard work and sheer determination.
It’s important to give voice to those who need it, and who may not have it already.
Don’t be afraid to stand out of the crowd. There is nothing worse than following the herd without ever questioning it, so speak up!
It’s okay and in fact, necessary to take rest. Give yourself a break, and not just on the weekends. It’s important to sit with yourself, relax and introspect a little every day.

Stop pitting women against each other because some female friendships can be really inspiring!

Love is right around the corner but don’t spend all your time looking for it. Be true to yourself and your potential. Let love find you organically.
It’s okay to be feminine. Wear pink! Wear flowers in your hair! Wear pink again! Who will stop you?
Work hard for what you want. No dream is too big, and as Elle Woods said, “If the fabric doesn’t work with you, don’t work with the fabric.”
Celebrate all your victories! Don’t wait for people to come around and give you the needed validation. You won, you saw, now go celebrate!
Be fearless! Face your fears head on, and don’t let it stop you from becoming the great person you are destined to be.
