The 2024 Met Gala red carpet has officially rolled out at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. This year’s exhibition, titled ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,’ explores how technology can revive garments too old and delicate for regular wear.
Attendees graced the museum’s iconic steps adorned in attire inspired by the event’s ‘The Garden of Time’ theme. The thematic inspiration derives from a J.G. Ballard tale where a count, facing an approaching mob, plucks a rose from his garden to slow down time until no flowers remain. With the story’s dystopian essence intertwined with the exhibit’s focus on blending the past with the present, anticipate a red carpet adorned with everything from floral motifs to futuristic fashion—and perhaps a nod or two to Sleeping Beauty.
