Paul Chapman of UFO fame has passed away today at the age of 66. He was the lead guitarist of UFO, Skid Row, and Lone Star. Here's a look at his life.

1. He was born in 1954 in Cardiff and made his mark in world music with Skid Row in 1971.

2. He left UFO to form Lone Star with Kenny Driscoll, Tony Smith, Ray Jones, Jim Matthews, Pete Hurley and Dixie Lee in 1972.

3. Paul Chapman returned to UFO in 1978 and created studio albums No Place To Run, The Wild, The Willing And The Innocent, Mechanix and Making Contact.

4. Former Motorhead guitarist Phil Campbell said this about him: "Just woke up to sad news of Paul Chapman passing. He was my main influence on guitar for many years and a brilliant bloke. Thoughts are with his family."

6. His son, confirming his death on Facebook, said this about him: "It is with a heavy heart writing this, today is my dads 66th birthday. He passed away earlier this afternoon. He was a brilliant, energetic, loving and most carefree person and the First man I ever loved."
