Style Transformation: Alicia Keys
Alicia Keys has been grabbing all headlines as of late, after news of her showdown with John Legend. Okay, some of you might be a tad bit confused, so let’s backtrack a bit. The two stars are taking on a musical battle to mark this year’s Freedom Day, in the US. As the #BlackLivesMatter movement gains momentum, this is a very significant day, as slavery ended in Texas on 19 June 1865, sparking widespread celebrations and church community gatherings. And so, Alicia and John are celebrating by having a piano showdown, today. Now, while we wait, we’ve got a treat in store for you – a look at Alicia’s style evolution over the years. Now, the woman pays a lot of attention to everything she puts on, in fact, a couple of years ago, she even took a pledge to stop wearing makeup. As a celebrity in a rapidly growing industry, that’s a very brave move to make.
Anyway, before we begin gushing about Alicia’s most empowering moments, that’s a rant for another time, right now we’re looking at the woman, in all her bare, bold glory…
1. 2010 Alicia was an absolute diva. And boy, that’s a tricky colour to pull off, but she truly does it with such ease.

2. The lucious curls, the turquoise dress, the dazzling earrings – she’s out here looking like a real-life Disney princess. And you can bet that she’d be the type to jump on a horse and save the day. Not all women need a Prince Charming.

3. We found yet another gem from 2011 that we didn’t dare leave out. The duality of this woman stuns us to this day. We never thought we needed to see Alicia Keys in a vest, but this definitely made our day.
