As award season trickles to a sparkling finale, the weekend witnessed yet another buzzing ceremony: the MTV Europe Music Awards. The night saw some lovely surprises, as a string of newbies took home trophies, while a few seasoned acts also won big in some of the major categories.
The MTV EMAs also made way for a number of star-studded performances. From Harry Styles and Doja Cat to Sam Smith, YUNGBLUD and even Maluma - all arrived in prime form to put on a show like no other. But now getting to the meat of the event, we're going to run you through the dazzling list of winners, so brace yourselves for a number of pleasant surprises!

The Winner List; Brimming with Surprises

1. Lady Gaga took home one of the most prestigious awards of the evening: Best Artist, which saw her beat out other impressive acts like Dua Lipa, The Weeknd, Justin Bieber and more.

2. BTS made quite a splash with their all-English track, 'Dynamite,' which further propelled them under the spotlight, where they held four EMA wins. The boys scored in some of the biggest categories out there like: Best Song, Best Group, Best Virtual Live and Biggest Fans.

3. The seasoned stars of Little Mix also owned the evening after they scored a win in the Best Pop category. The band also slipped into their role as the hosts of the ceremony.

4. There ain't no Hip-Hop if there ain't no Cardi B. The artist took home a trophy in this very category, beating out Travis Scott, Drake, Eminem and more.

5. The singer-songwriter, H.E.R, scored a win in one of the newer categories introduced: Video For Good, which crowned her moving track, 'I Can't Breathe' the winner.

6. The up and coming Punk-Rocker, Yungblud, notched a win for the Best Push New Artist category.

7. Speaking of rising stars, Doja Cat also won in the Best New Artist category, which was to be expected following all the stunners she's dropped this year.

8. The award for the Best Video went to DJ Khaled and Drake for 'POPSTAR', beating out 'WAP,' 'Rain on Me,' 'Blinding Lights' and more.

9. The young Karol G also won big, particularly in the categories for Best Latin and even Best Collaboration for 'Tusa' featuring Nicki Minaj.

10. And finally, the seasoned stars of Coldplay stood tall under the spotlight for Best Rock.
