If 2020 has taught us anything, it is to expect the unexpected. And on the list of things unexpected, one name stands out – The Black Eyed Peas.
The Black Eyed Peas have a place in all our nostalgia books. From hits like ‘I Got a Feeling’ and ‘Boom Boom Pow’ to timeless classics like ‘Pump It’ and ‘My Humps’, their music makes up our ultimate dance playlist. And now, they’ve made a comeback.
The group may not include Fergie anymore, but they are back and ready to make their mark on the dance scene once again. So, take a minute to rediscover the group as it stands today.

2. The Black Eyed Peas now consists of original members ‘will.i.am’, ‘apl.de.ap’, ‘Taboo’, and singer J. Rey Soul (replacing Fergie).
3. Will.i.am is known as the founding member, and lead member of the group. He is a rapper, producer and philanthropist.
4. Taboo’s real name is actually Jaime Luis Gomez. His role in the group also extends to singer-songwriter.
5. apl.de.ap’s real name is Allen Pineda Lindo and he is a rapper and producer of Filipino origin.
6. They originally debuted as an alternative hip-hop group. It was only later that they transformed into a mainstream pop act.
7. They may be one of the most recognisable groups in music now, but it was only in 2003, 8 years after their debut, that they earned high record sales with the album ‘Elephunk’.
8. The Black Eyed Peas initially included a singer by the name of Kim Hill.
9. As a part of their alternative music, they released the album ‘Behind the Front’ in 1998. It was critically acclaimed for its socially conscious lyrics.
10. Their 2009 album, “The E.N.D” won them 3 Grammy Awards, including Best Pop Vocal Album.
