American singer-songwriter John Prine has passed away, succumbing to the coronavirus. The Illinois-born folk singer was one of the boldest, most courageous voices of the protest-music movement, paving the way for singers then and today, alike. His legacy will carry on in hit songs like "In Spite of Ourselves", "Angel from Montgomery" and "Sam Stone". Thank you, Mr. Prine for inspiring a generation of writers and artists to come.
