The Top 10 Things You Didn’t Know About Travis Scott
Travis Scott has been making a lot of headlines after his virtual concert on the gaming platform, Fortnite, saw raging success. He also ended up releasing a lot of new tracks as a part of this event titled, ‘Astronomical’. His collab with Kid Cudi on ‘The Scotts‘ has particularly taken the world and the charts by storm. So much so that some of Scott’s older numbers from 2017-2018 have actually re-entered the Billboard Charts – and that doesn’t happen everyday. So, while Travis is currently the talk of the town, we’ve decided to pick out parts of his life that you had absolutely no clue about.
1. Turns out that Travis actually has some drummer blood in him. In fact, his own father was a drummer and as all fathers often do – he decided to pass on that talent. The man taught Travis how to play drums from the age of 3! Oh and interestingly enough, his uncles also have a foot in the music scene – particularly Jazz.

2. In an interview way back in 2013, Travis Scott revealed that he had sacrificed his bed to build a makeshift studio in high school. Which meant that on most days he either slept on the ground or on a chair. Now if that ain’t proof of some insane levels of dedication, we don’t know what is.

3.Like we mentioned earlier, Travi’s new track with Kid Cudi is already soaring through charts. But did you know that him and Kid Cudi have matching tattoos? Travis has mentioned multiple times that he believes Cudi’s music saved his life. Both of them really admire each other, so you can imagine how thrilling it must have been to work with such a close friend.

4. Kanye West has always been known to be a bit…eccentric. And he proved just that when he gave Travis Scott a taco upon their first meeting. Travis ate the taco even though it had sour cream, which he hates. What a gentleman.

5. Okay, there is no way you would’ve seen this coming. Travis loves theatre, Broadway to be exact. In fact, when he was in high school, he wanted to design a broadway inspired play for his next album. His love for bizarre, grand sets onstage is proof that this hidden passion has not died down.

6. ” I wanted to be a nephrologist when I grew up – a kidney doctor”. Wow. We’re just trying to imagine Travis Scott as a doctor. Either way, he’s still saving lives, but now it’s just with music.

7. Note for future reference: Travis Scott does not like to be referred to as a ‘Rapper’. He believes that his music has the power to transcend genres. He doesn’t feel the need to be squeezed under one umbrella.

8. Did ya’ll known that Travis Scott and Rihanna used to date? Numerous times they’ve been spotted dancing at clubs together in 2016, but since then they’ve never bothered to come clean about their relationship. It might just be one of those secrets that stay buried forever.

9. He dropped out of university to pursue a career in music. According to him, life in university was “driving him nuts”. He further explained, “It frustrated me man, just seeing the Grammys, seeing the VMA’s and I’m in college.” Well, doing what you love does take a lot of courage.

10. He’s an absolute sweetheart. But we all knew that anyway. Kylie Jenner’s baby daddy flooded their house with rose petals for her birthday. No literally, it was a carpet of petals, you couldn’t even see the ground. So, for all the men out there – you’ve gotta up your game.
