The Week in Music: News from 14th Sept. to 20th Sept.

As another week in pop culture passes by, we can’t help but think: pop culture years are like light years. A lot happens in a very short span of time. And, this week was no different. The days brought us news in various forms: a barrage of releases, strange tales and some exciting rumours.
Pop Culture Keeps Spinning
Sam Smith, Justin Bieber and Ava Max raked in new releases, Lady Gaga is reportedly pursuing another heavy-duty acting job, and Kanye West found himself in the middle of yet another battle. What did we tell you? Pop culture is an ever-revolving world. So, scroll away and catch up.

1. Sam Smith released a brand new single, ‘Diamonds’, and announced his upcoming studio album, titled “Love Goes”. The album will arrive on the 30th of October, 2020.
2. Justin Bieber kicked off a brand new era in music with the release of a single, titled ‘Holy’. Further, the track featured musician, Chance The Rapper.
3. American singer-songwriter, MAX, released the highly anticipated track, ‘Blueberry Eyes’, featuring a verse from rap superstar, SUGA of BTS.
4. And, Little Mix pushed us through the week with the announcement that their sixth studio album, “Confetti”, will arrive on the 6th of November, 2020.
5. Further, fellow girl group, BLACKPINK, revealed the release date of their debut studio album: “The Album”. The project will arrive on the 2nd of October, 2020.
6. And then, Tones and I made the news when she teamed up with ‘blackbear’ for a remix of her hit single, ‘Ur So F**king Cool’.
7. Ava Max made her presence in pop music felt with her debut studio album, “Heaven & Hell”, featuring previously released singles like ‘Sweet But Psycho’ and ‘Kings & Queens’.
8. Further, Korean pop music sensations, Stray Kids, rose to success with their first ever repackaged album, “IN LIFE”, and its lead single – the electric ‘Back Door’.
9. In addition, rumours struck pop music when news that Lady Gaga is reportedly being offered the role of ‘Emma Frost’ in the X-Men reboot.
10. And, Kanye West shook up Twitter, yet again. This time he outed his record label with pictures of his contracts and leaked the number of Forbes’ editor-in-chief.
