Words To Live By: Your 101 on Nick Jonas

Today, on September 16th, Nick Jonas celebrates his birthday. It might be a shocker to hear this but the star just turned twenty-eight, and yet it feels like he’s been in the music industry for aeons.
Now, for a brief history lesson, Jonas began acting in theater at the age of seven, and released his debut single in 2002. This caught the attention of Columbia Records where Nick formed a band with his older brothers, Joe and Kevin. Oddly enough, the trio initially planned to call their band, Sons of Jonas, but finally settled on the Jonas Brothers. And in 2006, they threw the door to the industry wide open when they dropped their debut studio album ‘It’s About Time’.
Now, for all you hardcore Nick Jonas fans out there, how well do you really know the star? Do you know his all-time favourite song? The one food item he can never live without? His favourite TV show? Well, if you’re floundering then worry not. We’re going to help acquaint you with every shade of Nick Jonas. So, pull up a chair because this class is in session!

Presenting: Every Shade of Nick Jonas
1. “Having haters is just a part of the business, and the more haters you have, the more people like you – that’s how I view it, because I try to see the positive in things.”
2. “I love pizza; you can’t really go wrong with pizza.”
3. “I think my favorite song from another artist would have to be ‘Superstition’ by Stevie Wonder.”
4. “I really like scripted dramas. My favorite show of all time would have to be ‘Lost’: I loved how the writers and producers were able to weave the different storylines together; and the acting in that show was incredible.”
5. “I flirted with Rihanna once. It didn’t work – but it didn’t not work. It didn’t go anywhere, but it was a great conversation.”
6. “I have really musical parents, and my dad was always encouraging, but the desire to get onstage and perform really did come from me. I’d never push my future children.”
7. “My faith plays a big part in who I am: a Christian guy playing pop-rock music. I’m in a pop-rock band, not a Christian band.”
8. “I admire Kings of Leon. I think their records are amazing. Just from hanging out with them, I can say they’re good guys. It’s cool to see that they get to do what they love.”
9. “It’s a dream of mine to win a Grammy one day. I’m not saying I’m Grammy-worthy, but it would be a dream come true.”
10. “I see my career as not just music, but as hopefully an entertainer on all mediums, and someone who can have real influence and make great art.”
