Black Adam vs. Superman: Who Would Win in a DCU Showdown?

A mid-credits sequence in the 2022 movie ‘Black Adam’ hinted at an epic battle between Black Adam and Superman, but this encounter will never happen—at least not in the way it was originally planned. Despite the fact that both characters have amazing abilities, it’s unclear from their comic book histories whether Black Adam can vanquish Superman for good. Every hero has advantages and disadvantages that could affect how their fight turns out.

The ancient wizard Shazam bestowed Black Adam’s powers, which were culled from a variety of Egyptian deities. He is a very strong opponent because of his strength, endurance, speed, wisdom, and immortality.

In contrast to Superman’s Kryptonian powers, Black Adam’s primary power source is magic. It has been said that especially when utilizing his magical powers, his physical strength might be on par with or even higher than Superman’s.

In contrast, Superman receives his abilities from the yellow sun of Earth, which gives him superhuman strength, flight, hearing, and heat vision. However, he is susceptible to Black Adam’s attacks because of his weaknesses, which include magic and Kryptonite. The fact that Superman typically pulls back from using his powers, in contrast to Black Adam, who uses them relentlessly, may possibly be a major factor.

The change of course under James Gunn’s leadership eventually limited the possibility of this conflict in the DCEU. Supporters noted that Shazam, not Superman, is Black Adam’s primary adversary and that the fight’s setup was illogical given the DC Universe as a whole. It is unlikely that this conflict will occur in the rebooted DCU. But Black Adam might make a comeback in a different shape, perhaps going up against Shazam rather than Superman.
