Several Hogwarts professors are essential in helping Harry in the ‘Harry Potter’ series as he sets out to confront Voldemort. While Professor Lupin teaches Harry how to defend himself against Dementors and Professor Dumbledore, the Headmaster offers insightful information about Voldemort's past and the Horcruxes, one of the most significant lessons Harry learns comes from an unlikely source: Severus Snape and Gilderoy Lockhart.
Harry sees Snape employ the Disarming Charm, "Expelliarmus," against Lockhart during the Dueling Club in ‘Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets’. Throughout the series, Harry employs this seemingly straightforward spell to disable adversaries, making it one of his defining techniques. None of the other strong spells that Harry learns are as recognizable or constantly helpful as the Disarming Charm. It enables Harry to disarm adversaries and seize their wands or other belongings, which is an essential ability when dealing with dangerous adversaries.

After using the Disarming Charm on Draco Malfoy and subsequently Gilderoy Lockhart, Harry gains proficiency with it, which only gets stronger as he encounters more difficult situations. Priori Incantatem is a phenomenon that occurs when Voldemort's Killing Curse and the spell combine in Harry Potter's use of the Goblet of Fire during their battle. In the end, this interaction aids Harry's escape and return to Hogwarts.
Harry continues to rely on the Disarming Charm throughout the series, employing it at pivotal points in the Battle at the Department of Mysteries, the Triwizard Tournament, and ultimately the climactic conflict with Voldemort. The charm distinguishes Harry from Voldemort and his adherents by symbolizing his capacity to prevail via cunning rather than force. Harry might not have created such a significant and potent weapon if Snape and Lockhart hadn't taught him the first instruction.
