Every Upcoming Movie In The ‘The Twisted Childhood’ Horror Universe

Leading up to the highly anticipated debut of ‘Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2,’ Jagged Edge Productions has unveiled plans for a groundbreaking horror crossover universe. Director Rhys Frake-Waterfield, buoyed by the financial triumph of ‘Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey,’ aims to expand the horror franchise by reimagining other beloved childhood classics. Bambi, Peter Pan and Pinocchio are confirmed to be among the stories receiving the horror remake treatment.

Following Winnie-the-Pooh’s entry into the public domain in 2022, the first horror remake hit screens in 2023, portraying Pooh and Piglet as vengeful killers pursuing Christopher Robin, who deserted them upon heading to college. Despite facing critical backlash, the film garnered heightened public interest, leading to a sequel and the birth of a horror universe titled ‘The Twisted Childhood Universe’ by Frake-Waterfield.

This universe will witness additional horror remakes in the years ahead, culminating in a crossover extravaganza featuring all main characters slated for 2025.

In March 2024, Jagged Edge Productions unveiled plans for their inaugural crossover film set in the ‘Twisted Childhood’ Universe. Titled ‘Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble,’ the movie will gather beloved characters like Winnie-the-Pooh, Piglet, Peter Pan and Tinker Bell, alongside newcomers Sleeping Beauty, The Mad Hatter and The Talking Cricket.

All will undergo a chilling transformation for this horror-themed tale, depicted in the first released movie poster where the iconic figures are portrayed as menacing and vengeful. Actor Scott Chambers, known for his role as Christopher Robin in ‘Blood and Honey 2,’ likened the film to an Avengers-style gathering of villains, highlighting the internal conflicts amidst their quest for victims.

Chambers, along with Roxanne McKee, Meghan Plactio and Lewis Santer, is confirmed to reprise his role in this crossover event. While production has yet to commence, ‘Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble’ is slated for release in 2025.

In January 2024, Jagged Edge Productions unveiled plans for a chilling adaptation of the classic tale, ‘Pinocchio,’ titled ‘Pinocchio: Unstrung.’ This rendition promises a darker and more macabre portrayal of the beloved puppet, expanding the horror universe created by Frake-Waterfield.

With the original story already harbouring its share of eerie elements, such as the monstrous whale and the cursed Pleasure Island, early glimpses of the grotesque puppet hint at a fresh and unexpected twist. While key details like the plot, director and cast remain under wraps, initial sketches featured in the end credits of ‘Blood and Honey 2’ suggest a departure from the familiar cheerful narrative.

Production is slated to commence in the summer of 2024, aiming for a potential theatrical release by November of the same year.

After Winnie the ‘Pooh: Blood and Honey”s success, Jagged Productions announced a new horror film based on J.M. Barrie’s ‘Peter Pan.’ ‘Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare’ takes a darker twist on the classic tale, with Wendy Darling embarking on a mission to rescue her brother Michael from Peter Pan’s clutches in a terrifying version of Neverland.

Tinkerbell, portrayed as an “obese drug addict,” adds a stark contrast to her usual portrayal. This marks the first horror remake of Peter Pan, with Philip Philmar as Peter, Kit Green as Tinkerbell and Megan Placito and James DeSouza-Feighoney as Wendy and Michael.

Filming starts in May 2024 for a potential Halloween release, promising audiences a chilling new take on the beloved story.

‘Bambi: The Reckoning’ is an upcoming horror remake linked to the TCU (Terrifying Cinematic Universe). Inspired by Felix Salten’s 1923 novel, this retelling follows Xana and her son Benji, stranded in the woods after a car accident. Their quest for help leads them to encounter a monstrous deer named Bambi, driven by a horrifying hunger for human flesh.

As they fight for survival, the duo must navigate the terrifying depths of the forest. Like the movie ‘Blood and Honey,’ this remake emerged after the original novel’s copyright expired. Roxanne McKee takes on the role of Xana, with Tom Mulheron portraying Benji and Nicola Wright in an undisclosed role. Notably, Rhys Frake-Waterfield serves as producer, with Dan Allen directing.

While the release date remains unconfirmed, post-production is underway following the conclusion of filming on 23rd January 2024.
