Everything We Know About ‘Tron: Ares’ Movie So Far
Disney plans to revive the ‘Tron’ series with ‘Tron: Ares’, which will be released on 10th October, 2025, more than ten years after ‘Tron: Legacy’ did poorly at the box office. After going through multiple story iterations over the course of several years, the new movie finally settled on its current course. With Academy Award-winning actor Jared Leto in the starring role, many people are hoping that this new film will give Tron the popularity it hasn’t yet attained.
The story of ‘Tron: Ares’ centres on Ares, a highly developed artificial intelligence program that is dispatched on a perilous journey from the digital world into the real one. This is the first time that humans and AI have interacted. The entire plot is unknown, however, rumours indicate it might be related to ‘Tron: Legacy’s’ conclusion, as some of the early drafts alluded to the digital Grid invading the actual world.

Joachim Rønning, who helmed Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, is directing the picture, which will prioritize the characters’ emotional experiences over the visual extravaganza that characterized earlier entries in the saga.
Leto is joined in the movie by Jeff Bridges, who will play Kevin Flynn again. ‘American Horror Story’ star Evan Peters is also joining in an unspecified capacity, possibly as a digital soldier. Trent Reznor’s industrial rock band, Nine Inch Nails, wrote the soundtrack for the movie. ‘Tron: Ares’ is currently in production, with filming scheduled to conclude in May 2024, following a protracted period of development difficulties that included changes in directors and writers. When it opens in theatres in 2025, fans can anticipate an emotionally charged and aesthetically spectacular continuation of the Tron saga.
