‘Fantastic Beasts 3’: Biggest Plot Holes & Unanswered Questions
As Grindelwald (Mads Mikkelsen) tries to take over the Wizarding World, ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore’ tells a convoluted story. While Credence (Ezra Miller) battles as one of Grindelwald’s puppets, Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) rallies a team to stop him. A number of important points remain unresolved in spite of the film’s complex plot.
Credence’s mother is the subject of one mystery. Although it is established that Credence is the nephew of Albus and the son of Aberforth Dumbledore, his mother’s name is still unknown. Albus says that Aberforth met her the summer he and Grindelwald fell in love, but he doesn’t go into detail about her fate or why she chose to hide Credence. Why Dumbledores didn’t seek Credence sooner, knowing that his awful end was similar to that of their late sister Ariana, is another unanswered question. Aberforth acknowledges that he missed his son, yet his lack of action comes across as careless.

The location of Nagini is also not discussed in the movie. Because Credence’s ex-lover and ally isn’t there, fans are left wondering what happened to her and why she didn’t try to assist him. The same is true with Yusuf Kama’s betrayal of Grindelwald; it is never made clear how he managed to thwart the memory-altering spell and fool Grindelwald.
There are also concerns about the relationship between Bunty, Tina, and Newt. Fans are left wondering about Bunty’s genuine thoughts because of the contradiction between his loyalty to Newt and his enduring love for Tina. Additionally, considering Credence’s past allegiance to Grindelwald, it is puzzling that he chose not to murder Newt during a previous confrontation with Grindelwald’s cultists.

There is also conjecture surrounding the phoenix that helps Credence. Supporters question what its emergence means and whether it is Fawkes, Albus’ future mate. The plot’s flaws are further exacerbated by Queenie’s failure to use her mind-reading skills on Grindelwald and expose his lies. Finally, the destiny of Grindelwald’s supporters is still unclear because it is unclear who is responsible for helping him with his schemes.
