Kevin Feige Unveils Annual MCU Release Plans: How Many Projects to Expect Per Year
In response to some fans’ “superhero fatigue,” Marvel has announced a change in its release strategy, seeking to decrease the number of yearly projects. This change won’t happen until after 2025, though. Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios, stated in a recent interview at D23 Brazil that the studio will be reducing production to about two films and three series per year in order to prioritize quality.
Historically, the studio has aimed for four films and four series annually. According to Feige, Marvel’s 2025 roster will continue to be packed with projects that are ready for release that year because of previous production schedules and delays brought on by recent strikes.
Feige outlined some of the much-awaited upcoming Marvel projects, particularly the two enormous ‘Avengers movies that will take up most of the studio’s attention: ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ and ‘Secret Wars’.

Marvel will release ‘Spider-Man 4’ in between both blockbusters, and Tom Holland will return as Peter Parker. He is also anticipated to make an appearance in ‘Secret Wars’. ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ (14th February), ‘Thunderbolts’ (2nd May), and ‘Fantastic Four: First Steps’ (25th July) are just a few of the highly anticipated films on Marvel’s 2025 theatrical schedule.
Fans may anticipate ‘Marvel Zombies’ (October), ‘Wonder Man’ (December), ‘Ironheart’ (June 24), ‘Eyes of Wakanda’ (6th August), ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ (4th March), and ‘Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man’ (29th January) on Disney+.

Marvel intends to slow down in 2026 after this ambitious 2025 slate, modifying the release schedule to prioritize quality and lessen audience weariness. As Marvel enters its next phase, this strategy change represents a fresh approach that strikes a balance between fewer projects and a sustained commitment to blockbuster storytelling.
