Raised in the forest by his mother, Bobby’s life is upended by a corrupt property developer and complicit police chief, leading him down a path of vengeance. With a fake identity borrowed from a bleach brand, Bobby infiltrates criminal circles while moonlighting as a masked fighter in underground brawls orchestrated by a sinister master of ceremonies, portrayed by Sharlto Copley.

Drawing inspiration from iconic action franchises like ‘John Wick,’ the film showcases Patel’s evolution as an actor, transitioning seamlessly into the action genre. Despite its nod to familiar tropes, ‘Monkey Man’ offers a unique blend of personal growth, social commentary and visceral violence reminiscent of Nicolas Winding Refn’s ‘Only God Forgives’ meets ‘The Lion King.’
