The Hidden Truth About Hagrid Revealed
Years of analysis of the Harry Potter series have uncovered numerous facts that remain unclear. There are some plot flaws in the series, despite its mystical elements and ability to make viewers suspend disbelief, such as the existence of a wizarding school and an orphan youngster who grows up to be a hero. Even though they weren’t included in the movies, several of these make sense. The way that Robbie Coltrane’s character Hagrid conceals his gigantic ancestry is a significant omission. The volumes offer a clear explanation of how giants are perceived and how rare half-giants are, even though this appears to be a plot hole.
Although Hagrid is amiable and compassionate, particularly with Harry (Daniel Radcliffe), his bulk can be frightening. Although fans may not be shocked to hear that he is a half-giant, the fact that he is significantly taller than the other characters at Hogwarts is important to the plot because it nearly cost him his job. Prejudice is frequently explored in the narrative, especially about wizarding blood purity, although giants and other magical creatures are also stigmatized. For this reason, Hagrid rarely talks about his ancestry.

In ‘Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire’, Rita Skeeter (Miranda Richardson) spies on Hagrid and reveals the truth about him. Hagrid is thrilled to tell Madam Maxime (Frances de la Tour), another half-giant, about their link. Nevertheless, she won’t accept it, so Hagrid confesses as Skeeter watches. Despite Hagrid’s obvious girth, everyone is shocked by this news. When Umbridge (Imelda Staunton) makes Hagrid leave Hogwarts, he meets difficulties even though Dumbledore (Michael Gambon) doesn’t fire him.
Even though Hagrid had attended Hogwarts for a long time, not many people knew he was a half-giant. Despite his height, he does not fit the violent giant stereotype. In contrast to Hagrid’s nurturing and compassionate nature, giants in the Harry Potter universe are notoriously violent. Although Hagrid’s height is a result of his giant blood, given that his father was short, he might not be as tall as a half-giant. Hagrid even describes his father as someone he could lift at six years old.

Half-giants are extremely uncommon, as evidenced by the fact that they are barely mentioned in the Harry Potter books. Meeting Madam Maxime surprises Hagrid, who says he has never seen a half-giant before. Because he doesn’t know what half-giants look like, Hagrid is able to conceal his origins.
Many might not suspect his heritage, as demonstrated by Ron’s (Rupert Grint) admission that he believed Hagrid’s height was the result of a spell gone awry after learning the truth. Hagrid has been able to maintain his secret for years since muggle-born people are not aware of the stigma against giants.
