‘The Idea of You‘ (Release Date: 2nd May)
Solène Marchand, a 40-year-old single mother, finds herself unexpectedly at Coachella with her teenage daughter, as per her ex-husband’s request. Amidst the festival chaos, she crosses paths with Hayes Campbell, the 24-year-old frontman of August Moon, a renowned boy band.
Their encounter sparks an unlikely romance, setting the stage for a tale of unexpected connections and age-defying love.
‘The Fall Guy‘ (Release Date: 3rd May)
David Leitch, known for his work on ‘John Wick’ and ‘Atomic Blonde,’ brings a fresh twist to the 1980s TV show ‘The Fall Guy’ in this action-packed comedy. Ryan Gosling steps into the shoes of Colt Seavers, a Hollywood stuntman with a side gig as a bounty hunter.
When movie star Tom Ryder (played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson) goes missing, Seavers dives into the investigation, uncovering shady dealings that lead to car chases, shootouts, and bar fights. Emily Blunt directs, adding to the star-studded cast which includes Winston Duke, Stephanie Hsu, Hannah Waddingham and Teresa Palmer.
‘Back to Black‘ (Release Date: 10th May)
Marisa Abela steps into the shoes of Amy Winehouse in this highly anticipated music biopic, chronicling the highs and lows that paved the way for her iconic 2006 album, ‘Back to Black.’
With Eddie Marsan portraying her father, Mitch Winehouse, Jack O’Connell as her husband, Blake Civil-Fielder, Lesley Manville as her grandmother, Cynthia Winehouse, and Jeff Tunke as producer Mark Ronson, the film promises to delve into the tumultuous journey of one of the world’s most renowned musicians.
‘Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes‘ (Release Date: 10th May)
The latest instalment in the ‘Planet of the Apes’ series seems determined to surpass the original’s legacy. As the fourth film in the rebooted franchise, following 2017’s ‘War for the Planet of the Apes,’ it brings the series just two steps away from exceeding the five-movie saga that began in 1968.
Set three centuries after the era of Caesar, the alpha simian portrayed by Andy Serkis, a new ape leader named after him, portrayed by Kevin Durand, seeks power through weapons and technology. Only Noa, a chimp and Mae, a human, stand in his way, striving to prevent him from becoming a tyrannical ape ruler.
‘IF’ (Release Date: 17th May)
This movie is about ‘Imaginary Friends.’ John Krasinski’s new family-friendly fantasy suggests these childhood companions stick around, even when we grow up. But when an adult (Ryan Reynolds) and a girl (Cailey Fleming) start seeing them, things get complicated.
Krasinski tapped some heavy hitters for the voices: Steve Carell, Phoebe Waller-Bridges, Maya Rudolph, Sam Rockwell, Christopher Meloni, and Awkwafina. Plus, there’s Matt Damon and Emily Blunt too.
‘Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga‘ (Release Date: 24th May)
Prepare for the backstory you’ve been waiting for! Discover how Imperator Furiosa, the one-armed hero who saved ‘Mad Max in Fury Road,’ became the ultimate rebel in George Miller’s post-apocalyptic world. This origin story prequel stars Anya Taylor-Joy as the formidable Furiosa, stepping into Charlize Theron’s iconic role.
Joining her are Chris Hemsworth and Tom Burke, promising plenty of classic stunts to thrill fans old and new.
‘Garfield‘ (Release Date: 24th May)
Garfield’s world turns upside down when he reconnects with his long-lost father, the scruffy alley cat Vic. Suddenly, he and his buddy Odie find themselves thrust into a daring heist, leaving behind their cushy lives for a whirlwind adventure.
