Will ‘Heart Eyes’ Get to Show More Slasher Mayhem?

Working on her most recent horror movie, ‘Heart Eyes’, was an amazing experience for Olivia Holt. She adored playing the part of Ally, but she also loved working with director Josh Ruben and co-stars Mason Gooding, Devon Sawa, and Jordana Brewster. In the movie, a masked serial murderer who preys on joyful couples on Valentine’s Day pursues Ally and her coworker Jay (Gooding). What other motive is there to remain unmarried if that isn’t it?

In an interview with Perri Nemiroff on Collider’s Ladies Night, Holt discussed her feelings about portraying Ally and alluded to her desire to reprise the role in a follow-up. After the murderer is revealed at the end of the movie, Ally and Jay make an effort to put the turmoil and violence they experienced behind them. Their happy ending is set up in the film, but as horror aficionados are aware, if a sequel is made, that happiness might not last long. Holt is willing to play the part again, stating:

“I hope I get the opportunity to play that character again because I truly adore her.”

Whether Jay is involved or not, Ally is a strong, self-reliant woman who is happy with her life. Holt described her as enthusiastic, passionate, and opinionated, and he much valued the chance to bring her to life. Additionally, she observed that Ally continuously puts pressure on herself to be successful in both her personal and professional lives.

Holt praised Ally’s development throughout the movie, saying that although Jay gives her a fresh viewpoint, she doesn’t accept it right once; instead, she keeps her boundaries while progressively letting herself become more open. Naturally, she was impressed by Ally’s fortitude and made fun of the amount of running she had to do on set.

Fans will have to wait to find out if a sequel is planned for ‘Heart Eyes’, which is currently showing in theatres.
