Pull Up A Chair; Here Are The Winners of the 2020 VMAs
The 2020 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) has been one of the most anticipated events of this madenning year, and understandably so. The show took place over the weekend and performances were aired from different locations across New York.
Over the past few weeks, the VMAs have been dishing out details on the show, leaving everyone at the edge of their seats. For starters, the nominee list held onto some of the biggest names in the industry, along with some pleasant surprises. Next up, the VMAs performers list promised acts like Miley Cyrus, BTS, Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, Maluma and more. Interestingly enough, taking into consideration all the challenges this global coronavirus pandemic brought forth, the VMAs also introduced two special new categories: The Best Music Video From Home and The Best Quarantine Performance.
Well, we’ve got no time to waste, so we’re currently diving headfirst into the winners of this year’s VMAs. On this wonderful night, you’ll find that some seasoned acts took home awards, and so did some of the newbies to the industry. As always, this show was filled to the brim with surprises, so buckle up for one hell of a ride!

2. The Weeknd took home the award for the Video of the Year with ‘Blinding Lights’. He also won in the Best R&B category for the same.
3. In a fantastic turn of events, the up and coming star, Doja Cat, won the PUSH Best New Artist award.
4. Like we mentioned before, ‘Rain on Me’ well, reigned supreme during this wonderful night. It earned itself awards in a whopping four categories.
5. The VMAs also witnessed yet another plot twist in the form of BTS as they bagged an award in the Best Pop category (beating out powerful Western acts like Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift). They also scored in the Best K-Pop and the Best Group category with their hit, ‘ON’.
6. Megan Thee Stallion has added yet another feather to her cap as she took home an award for the Best Hip-Hop tune with her chart-topping single, ‘Savage’.
7. The seasoned stars of Coldplay won in the Best Rock category with their funky tune, ‘Orphans’.
8. Taylor Swift’s humorous visual for the track, ‘The Man’ won an award in the Best Direction category. Oh and by the way, Taylor directed this one all by herself.
9. The bubbling Latin act, Maluma, took home an award for his groovy tune, ‘Que Pena’ featuring J Balvin.
10. And finally, Ariana Grande added yet another award under her belt when she scored in the new category, Best Music Video From Home with ‘Stuck With U’ featuring Justin Bieber.
