1. Lady Gaga attended YouTube’s virtual graduation ceremony, ‘Dear Class of 2020’ and put forth one of the most powerful commencement addresses. Her most poignant lines were, “I believe in my heart that the people who are going to make this change happen are listening to this speech right now. You are the seeds that will grow into a new and different forest that is far more beautiful than the one we live in right now.”

2. Republic Records, one of the most powerful recording labels in the US, made a promise to stop using the word ‘urban’ to describe music of African-American origin. This term has become a serious problem as it started being used as an umbrella term for all music created by black musicians. By striking it down, Republic Records has also asked other labels to follow suit.

3. Madonna was recently spotted in crutches at a #BlackLivesMatter protest at Parliament Square. She was seen with her children, shouting out slogans. Looks like nothing can stop the star from fighting for racial justice.

4. Justin Bieber recently took to his Instagram to put out a statement about white privilege, acknowledging that he and his career have “benefited from black culture”.

5. The late DJ, Avicii, will be honoured with a museum in Stockholm, Sweden. A recent report stated that “
The audience will follow Tim’s journey from a reclusive music nerd to a celebrated superstar, from his boyhood room where it all started to the Los Angeles studio where the biggest hits were created.”

6. The Buddhist leader, The Dalai Lama, will be releasing his debut album titled, ‘Inner World’. Yes, you read that right. It’s slated to drop in July and will track all his teachings, in the form of melodies.

7. Bonnie Pointer, of The Pointer Sisters, passed away due to a cardiac arrest at 69. The group’s music spanned across varied genres from Funk, Rock n Roll, Gospel to Country and even Soul.

8. Iggy Azalea just announced to the world that she has a son. She broke the news on social media, emphasizing that she wanted his life to remain private but did not want to hold onto this secret any longer. Well, congratulations!

9. Nicki Minaj and 6ix9ine just put out the music video for their track, ‘Trollz’. To say that the video is rather colorful would be an understatement. The pair share a similar opinion on artists being able to manipulate Charts, just to claim that No. 1 spot. And the lyrics seen in this track reflect this sentiment.

10. BTS just celebrated their 7th anniversary, with a charming little birthday party the boys threw for themselves and a heartwarming message from their leader, Kim Namjoon. Not long after he posted his message on Weverse, BTS went on to occupy a whopping 10 Twitter trends.
