2. Republic Records, one of the most powerful recording labels in the US, made a promise to stop using the word ‘urban’ to describe music of African-American origin. This term has become a serious problem as it started being used as an umbrella term for all music created by black musicians. By striking it down, Republic Records has also asked other labels to follow suit.

3. Madonna was recently spotted in crutches at a #BlackLivesMatter protest at Parliament Square. She was seen with her children, shouting out slogans. Looks like nothing can stop the star from fighting for racial justice.

6. The Buddhist leader, The Dalai Lama, will be releasing his debut album titled, ‘Inner World’. Yes, you read that right. It’s slated to drop in July and will track all his teachings, in the form of melodies.

7. Bonnie Pointer, of The Pointer Sisters, passed away due to a cardiac arrest at 69. The group’s music spanned across varied genres from Funk, Rock n Roll, Gospel to Country and even Soul.
