1975 To Release an On “Conditional Form” ?

Over the past few years, the 1975 have taken the world by storm with their ambient, funky melodies and they’ve even managed to bag a couple of BRIT Awards with their fantastic releases.

Now, they’ve arrived with some good news and some bad news. So, what would you like to hear first? It’s always better to start off with the bad news, so here goes; their forthcoming album, Notes on a Conditional Form, has been pushed back a couple of months. But they’ve combated this with another refreshing announcement, they’ve not only released a new tune, titled “Me & You Together Song,” but they’re also planning to start touring!

Now, while Notes on a Conditional Form was supposed to come out on February 21st, the release date has been pushed to April 24th. But, it looks like the boys are still going to be quite busy as they also revealed their North American tour dates. They kick off their first show in Houston, on April 27th, and wrap up on June 12th in Manchester, Tennessee.

Now, let’s dive straight into “Me & You Together Song”, this one’s got a peppy, summery tune that finds front man, Matty Healy, yearning after a prospective lover. Interestingly enough, the song’s also got quite a retro vibe going, and this is clearly reflected in the lyrics as Healy sings,

I’ve been in love with her for ages/ And I can’t seem to get it right/ I fell in love with her in stages/ My whole life/ I had a dream where we had kids/ You would cook, I’d do the nappies (Nappies)/ We went to Winter Wonderland/ And it was shit but we were happy (Happy)

Well, atleast we’ve got this track to keep us company until the album drops!
