5 Classic Albums Celebrating Their 20th Anniversary This Year

Can you believe that it has already been 20 years since we first heard Beyoncé sing ‘Dangerously In Love’? Well, that isn’t the only album celebrating its 20 years anniversary this year. There are a few albums that you won’t believe have already been playing for 20 years, and yet we can’t get over them. Let us take a look at a few of those:

Beyoncé’s ‘Dangerously In Love’ was her first solo endeavour after being a part of Destiny’s Child, and she took the opportunity to give us some of the best hits we have ever heard including melodies like ‘Naughty Girl’, ‘Me, Myself and I’ and ‘Dangerously in Love 2’.

Jay Z’s ‘The Black Album’ was his eighth studio album. At that time, he claimed that this would be his last album before retirement, and while that’s not the case, the album was fit to be the final mic drop in his list of achievements over the years.

Radiohead’s ‘Hail To The Thief’ put their trailblazing rock and electronic urges to good use. They produced some bops that are impossible to get out of our heads like ‘2+2=5’, ‘Where I End And You Begin’ and the fan favourite, ‘There There’.

“I was in tears for ages,” Thom Yorke said about the song in 2003. “I just thought it was the best thing we had ever done.”

Blink 182’s ‘Blink 182’ was called their best studio album LP so far.‘I Miss You’ had the band go for acoustic instruments, including a cello, which delivered Blink‘s most memorable moment on record. ‘Always’, ‘Feeling This’ and ‘Down’ blew away fans with their immense emotional power.

Alicia Keys’ ‘The Diary of Alicia Keys’ was her second studio album. The production of the album saw contributions from Ye and Kerry Brothers Jr., who called it an R&B album. The album debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart, and sold about 618,000 copies in its first week alone.
