5 Seconds of Summer are Lining Up a Music Jackpot

Over the past year, 5 Seconds of Summer have given us a taste of their upcoming album through hits like, ‘Easier’ and ‘Teeth’. They’ve come a long way from their first album, which came out back in 2014. Now, it looks like the band’s become more confident about experimenting with new sounds and genres, particularly with the world of Punk/Rock.

So, the big news is that they just revealed the release date of their upcoming album titled, ‘Calm’, along with the entire track list. Yup, you might want to take a minute to let that sink in. ‘Calm’ is slated for release on March 27th and the boys took to social media to unveil the cover art for this project. The art is simple, it’s just the four of them lying down, but the use of colours and lighting almost makes it seem like a homage to the rock albums of the 80’s.

The Aussie boys arrived with yet another treat, with the release of a new song from the LP. This one’s titled “No Shame,” and the band’s also named their summer tour after this track.

Adding to the string of new releases, they also dropped an official album trailer which features snippets of all their tracks and boy, do they all sound so good! Much like their cover art, between an old collage of the boys to spontaneous jamming sessions, the trailer just oozes a retro feel.

Discussing their journey over the past few years, front man, Luke Hemmings explained, “For a band to make it to four albums is no small feat in itself, but to be reinventing and constantly pushing our songwriting and to come out with music that we’ve never been more proud of makes me so happy to be in 5 Seconds of Summer. Calm speaks on a journey through a young man’s life, for better or for worse. We are all human and all make mistakes, sometimes we hurt the ones we love and inevitably, ourselves in the process. Calm leaves the band in a much happier, unified and calm state of mind to continue making albums for years to come.”

We know, we know, March 27th seems so far away, but for now, we can dive head first into all the surprises they’ve sprung on us today…starting with their tracklist!
