Michael Jackson’s Rarely Seen Footage Has Been Discovered

A rare video of a Michael Jackson-starring Sega game that was thought to be lost was recovered at a car boot sale. Jackson served as the game's narrator and guide in ‘Scramble Training', a Sega World theme park game that combined an arcade shooter and an interactive ride.

The late musician had a long-standing association with the Japanese game developer, and he served as the model for Sega's ‘Moonwalker’ franchise, which was based on the singer's film of the same name. Michael also composed the music for ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 3’, former Sonic Team leader Yuji Naka confirmed earlier this year.

According to the gaming blog, Gaming Alexandria, a tape recording from Scramble Training was found at a UK car boot sale and is now viewable on YouTube.

The relative of a late former employee of Sega Amusement Europe sold the original master tape, which was marked 'Sega AS-1 (Michael Jackson Vers)'. The content was then extracted by a Sega fan group and the Oxford Duplication Center, who then uploaded it to an archive and YouTube with a recording in both English and Japanese.

It is believed to be the first copy of Scramble Training's gameplay. However, nothing is known about the actual game.

A making-of documentary about Michael Jackson's album ‘Thriller’ was announced to be in the works, with Sony Music Entertainment and Jackson's estate joining together to produce the film.
