A Picture of Drake in the Studio Has Sparked New Music Rumours

By uploading a photo of himself in a recording studio, Drake has sparked rumours that he’ll be releasing new songs soon. According to Music-News.com, by uploading a behind-the-scenes photo on his Instagram Stories this week, the Canadian artist hinted that he is now working on the follow-up album to last year’s ‘Certified Lover Boy.’

An anonymous producer is seen working at a mixing desk in a dimly lit studio setting in the photo in question, which was shared without a caption. Drake appears to have taken the image while sitting on a sofa, with a keyboard near the console beneath a massive speaker stack.

Drake said earlier this month that he would be performing “highly interactive shows” in New York and Toronto. More information is pending confirmation.

“They’re gonna be something different, something that I’ve never done before. Gonna be a highly interactive experience,” Drake explained in a radio interview.

“My brothers will be there, it’s gonna be great to see y’all, hopefully get a chance to speak with you, [and] hopefully learn a little more about each other. I’ll have the dates for that coming soon, I can’t wait.”

Drake’s most recent headlining performance occurred in 2019. Last December, he appeared at a Free Larry Hoover benefit show in Los Angeles, California, alongside his erstwhile nemesis Kanye West.

Nicki Minaj recently said that she and Drake have “discussed” having Drake serve as executive producer on her upcoming album, the follow-up to 2018’s ‘Queen.’ In a two-star review, NME described last September’s ‘Certified Lover Boy’ as a “tepid record that sounds like its creator is treading water”.
