Abba Is Reuniting For A Tour & New Music

Abba is going to be back as group for their holographic tour in 2021 while they release five new songs. The Swedish band was originally going to drop two songs by the end of the year. However to respect the vulnerable times due to the pandemic, they’ve postponed the releases.

The co-host of the ‘Reasons To Be Cheerful’ podcast, Geoff Lloyd explained that he was on a zoom call with Bjorn Ulvaeus from Abba, who was quarantining in an island. During the video call, he gathered few details about the releases.

“They’ve recorded five new songs. They should have been out at the end of last year… Because of technical difficulties and the pandemic, it’s delayed things. But he promised me that the new Abba music will be out in 2021.”

Abba will be releasing music after nearly 35 years, their last studio album, “The Visitors” hit the charts in 1981. The tracks ‘I Still Have Faith In You’ and ‘Don’t Shut Me Down’ were recorded in 2018 but now, fans will get a bonus of three more records with 2021 release.

At the peak year of Abba, there were two married couples but with time, relationships ended. Now, as individuals, the band consists Bjorn Ulvaes, Benny Andersson, Anni-Frid Lyngstad and Agnetha Fältskog.

During the zoom call with Geoff Lloyd, Ulvaes states that it felt like as if they were hanging out just like the old times. “It took half a minute and somehow we were back in time like we had been there yesterday as well. It was so strange. That feeling between us was extraordinary.”

Abba has also stated that, “The decision to go ahead with the exciting ABBA avatar tour project had an unexpected consequence. We all four felt that, after some 35 years, it could be fun to join forces again and go into the recording studio.”

We can expect Abba members to look like their younger selves in their holographic tour. “They photographed us from all possible angles, they made us grimace in front of cameras. They painted dots on our faces, they measured our heads. Apparently a cranium doesn’t change with age the way the rest of your body falls apart.”

We can only wait for this classic band to drop these tracks and take off for their tour. But, we are guessing it won’t take long for this to happen.
