Al Pacino and Dan Stevens Fight With a Demonic Force in ‘The Ritual’ Trailer
‘The Ritual’, a compelling new horror movie that balances religion against otherworldly powers, stars Al Pacino as Father Theophilus Riesinger. Starring Dan Stevens, Pacino leads the charge in a scary exorcism tale slated to hit cinemas on 6th June, courtesy of XYZ Films.
David Midell is the director of ‘The Ritual’, which stars Ritchie Montgomery, Ashley Greene, Patricia Heaton, and Abigail Cowen. The narrative follows two priests as they try to save a young woman who is thought to be possessed by demonic forces: Stevens’ more realistic Father Joseph Steiger and Al Pacino’s battle-hardened Father Riesinger.
Al Pacino makes a strong impression in the trailer, presenting Riesinger as a man who is steadfast in his beliefs. In his view, he and his partner priest are God’s warriors engaged in a spiritual conflict. Pacino’s character thinks she has been touched by something that is incomprehensible to humans when the afflicted woman shows symptoms of possession.
However, Stevens’ character takes a sceptical stance, wondering if the woman might genuinely require medical assistance instead. Tension between the two is sparked by this encounter, and Al Pacino’s character warns that a lack of faith could have disastrous consequences.
‘Begone Satan!’, a 1935 novel based on a true exorcism that has sparked decades of theological controversy, served as the inspiration for the movie. Enrico Natale, who is a producer along with Ross Kagan Marks, Andrew Stevens, and Mitchell Welch, co-wrote the screenplay with Midell.
Throughout his illustrious career, Al Pacino has consistently made audacious decisions. Among his most recent endeavours are ‘House of Gucci’, ‘Knox Goes Away’, ‘Three Days on the Wing of Madness’, and ‘Modì’. Additionally, he served as the showrunner for the two-season series ‘Hunters’, which debuted in 2020. Julian Schnabel’s ‘In the Hand of Dante’ will also showcase Al Pacino’s great acting.

Dan Stevens was recently seen in projects like ‘Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire’, ‘Cuckoo’, and ‘Abigail’. He also got a great opportunity to co-star opposite Robert De Niro in the political thriller series ‘Zero Day’.
With Al Pacino at the forefront and a spooky plot based on true stories, ‘The Ritual’ seems to be a gripping addition to the exorcism genre—where fear, faith, and the paranormal come together.
