Amanda Seyfried Hopes ‘Mean Girls’ Is Remembered ‘On My Grave’ — Calls It ‘A Perfect Movie’

Amanda Seyfried wants ‘Mean Girls’ to live on in the hearts of fans for many years to come.
Josh Horowitz, host of the ‘Happy Sad Confused’ podcast, noted that the 2004 teen comedy is still popular with new viewers, pointing out that teens still approach Seyfried to quote lines from the movie as though it had just been released. In response, Seyfried, who played the endearing and stylish Karen Smith, stated that she would not object to having such quotations inscribed on her gravestone. She saw the movie as absolutely flawless.
She stated she’s always pleased to talk about ‘Mean Girls’ ability to bring people together. Her first motion picture, which was renowned for its endlessly quotable dialogue, swiftly became a pop cultural mainstay. It spawned a Broadway musical, a 2024 movie version, and a made-for-TV sequel throughout the years. Even the possibility of a second sequel that reunites the original cast has been discussed.

For Seyfried, the movie’s influence extends well beyond its box office performance. She revealed that the experience of working on ‘Mean Girls’ changed her life. She was surrounded by experienced actors, and at the age of 17, everything on set was unfamiliar to her. She reflected on how unique that period was, making new acquaintances and savouring each second of it.
She talked about how, in between takes, she and co-star Lacey Chabert would spend time in hotel rooms watching movies and listening to Dido songs in the trailers. She claimed that despite the film’s enormous success, the joy of creating it would have remained with her.
According to Seyfried, ‘Mean Girls’ is a classic work of comedy that never goes out of style. She said she will always treasure the personal and professional gifts the film gave her and conveyed her sincere gratitude for how it shaped her as a person.
