Amanda Seyfried Recommends Sabrina Carpenter For Daughter Role in ‘Mamma Mia 3’

As the ‘Mamma Mia!’ The series gears up for a potential third film, Amanda Seyfried is open to suggestions for who could portray her character’s daughter. In a recent interview with ABC News, Seyfried expressed her enthusiasm for a new instalment, saying, “Mamma Mia 3, let’s go baby! Everybody says it’s going to happen, but I haven’t seen a script.”

The conversation turned to pop star and actress Sabrina Carpenter, particularly after her recent performance of ABBA’s “Mamma Mia” during her ‘Short n’ Sweet’ Tour. When asked if Carpenter could fit the role of Sophie’s daughter, Seyfried responded thoughtfully, acknowledging the age difference: “Yeah – technically, she could. You’re right. Actually, it doesn’t matter. You’re right. You know what? Old age makeup for me. I don’t mind. I’m an actor, I’ll do it. If Sabrina Carpenter wants to play my daughter, I’ll make it happen. It’s fine. I’m a big fan.”

Seyfried’s willingness to embrace this unconventional casting choice highlights her playful spirit and commitment to the project.

The original ‘Mamma Mia!’ the film, which premiered in 2008, featured a star-studded cast including Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, and Colin Firth, and revolves around the story of Sophie, a bride-to-be who invites three men to her wedding, hoping to discover which one is her biological father.

The success of the first film led to the release of ‘Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again’, where Seyfried and many original cast members returned. This sequel/prequel showcased both the past and present of the beloved characters, with Lily James playing a younger version of Donna, Sophie’s mother.

As fans eagerly await news on the third instalment, Seyfried’s comments on Carpenter suggest an exciting direction for the franchise. The blend of nostalgia and new talent could make ‘Mamma Mia 3’ a captivating continuation of the series.
