Amanda Seyfried Says She’s Excited for a ‘Jennifer’s Body’ Sequel

Amanda Seyfried has stated that she is eager and prepared for a follow-up to ‘Jennifer's Body’.

 Seyfried played a quiet high school student whose closest friend, played by Megan Fox, gets possessed in the 2009 original picture, which was written by Oscar winner Diablo Cody.  Despite its early difficulties with critics and box office performance, the movie has subsequently developed a devoted fan base, particularly among gay people, with many fans reinterpreting the relationship between the two main characters.

Seyfried's indication that a sequel was in the works while at the Toronto Film Festival promoting her production ‘Seven Veils’ sparked rumours about it earlier this year.  She teased fans that she thought a second movie was coming when she was signing signatures, jokingly stressing that she wasn't formally confirming it but that they were working on it.

 Seyfried characterized ‘Jennifer's Body’ as a "perfect movie" that never lived up to its potential because of inadequate promotion in a recent interview with GQ.  She stated that she has already offered her complete support and is excitedly awaiting the sequel, adding that she is prepared to hop in whenever the chance presents itself.  She would see going back to the project as a way to honour the enjoyment they all experienced creating the original.

Regarding the film's distinct aesthetic, Seyfried commended its audacity and the way it skillfully combined dark humour and genre flair to portray teenage anguish.  She was unreserved in her criticism of the film's first marketing approach, branding it a squandered chance that portrayed the film as a straightforward, gruesome romp, which eventually harmed its reception.

 Megan Fox, Diablo Cody, and Seyfried have all expressed their love for ‘Jennifer's Body’ and their willingness to carry on the plot throughout the years.  According to Fox in particular, a television version would be the ideal method to return and develop the idea of the movie.
