Amy Adams Shares Why She Went Makeup-Free for Years at Her Daughter's Request

Inspired by her daughter Aviana, Amy Adams adopts a more natural style in her daily life, even though she may look stunning on the red carpet. The 50-year-old actress remembers that her 14-year-old daughter once urged her to forego makeup, stating that she would rather see her as "Mom" than the glitzy "Amy Adams." For years, Adams complied with the suggestion, avoiding cosmetics save for the occasional smudge of mascara.

Aviana has just begun offering her mother fashion advice, urging her to dress up her laid-back look. Adams joked that unless she is truly working out, her kid disapproves of her wearing athleisure. 

Adams claims that she is the least organized member of the family at home and frequently puts her daughter and husband, Darren Le Gallo, before herself. She acknowledges that since Aviana was born, she has consistently worn a cap or a ponytail as part of her go-to style.

Aviana's first red carpet encounter occurred in September when the family went to the Toronto International Film Festival to see the premiere of ‘Nightbitch’. Adams loved to share that accomplishment with her daughter, who even encouraged her when she had to speak in front of an audience. Adams acknowledges that she still feels anxious in those circumstances, so she was moved by Aviana's encouragement.

Adams claims her daughter has not yet expressed any interest in performing, despite having grown up surrounded by the entertainment world. Although she understands that it might not involve following in her footsteps, she encourages Aviana to pursue whatever route that interests her.
