Andrew Garfield and Monica Barbaro Share Sweet Reunion After 2025 Met Gala

Despite not walking the red carpet together at the 2025 Met Gala, Andrew Garfield and Monica Barbaro had an emotional reunion shortly after the star-studded event.

In a video captured by Cosmopolitan, Garfield was seen waiting for Barbaro outside The Mark Hotel on the night of the 2025 Met Gala.  “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” was the event’s theme, but Garfield kept it understated by wearing a black graphic tee underneath a blue button-up, black pants, a baseball cap, and a black tote.

Andrew Garfield greeted Barbaro with a warm smile and hug when she arrived. Barbaro had swapped her red carpet look for an elegant black embroidered tulle gown from Dior’s Fall-Winter 2025 collection, which she paired with a matching Lady Dior handbag.

She debuted at the Met Gala earlier in the evening with a contemporary take on Dior’s classic 1947 New Look.  Her attire, which paid homage to classic couture with a modern twist, included a black glove, a stylish boater hat, and a pristine white jacket and pleated black tulle skirt.

Garfield and Barbaro have been discreetly going out together since PEOPLE announced their romance in February, even though Garfield hasn’t been to the Met Gala since 2019.  The couple had been keeping things low-key and spent time together away from the spotlight, according to a source at the time.

They have since appeared in public on a few occasions, such as at Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s Oscars afterparty and a London theatre night where they were seen taking in Richard II on the West End.  The two were initially spotted together in January when socialising with friends, including Eddie Redmayne, at W Magazine’s Best Performances celebration in Los Angeles.

Whether they are dressed to the nines or are keeping it casual, Garfield and Barbaro appear to be enjoying their time together on both red carpets and quiet evenings out.
