Anna Kendrick Stars And Directs in ‘Woman of the Hour’ Trailer

The first teaser trailer for ‘Woman of the Hour’ has just dropped, revealing a chilling new film inspired by the true story of serial killer Rodney Alcala. Anna Kendrick, who not only stars in the film but also directs, takes on the role of Cheryl Bradshaw, a bachelorette featured on the infamous dating show ‘The Dating Game’.

The film, written by Ian McDonald, delves into the bizarre convergence of an aspiring actress and a serial killer whose lives intersect during a 1970s episode of the show. The impressive cast also includes Tony Hale, Daniel Zovatto, Nicolette Robinson, Pete Holmes, Autumn Best, Kathryn Gallagher, and Kelley Jakle.

Kendrick spoke about her directorial debut, expressing that the process was both thrilling and daunting. "I think there was something about the movie overall that I found compelling," Kendrick revealed. Despite her excitement, she admitted that directing brought her "as terrified as I've ever been about, frankly, anything."

Initially, Kendrick was set to star and produce the film, but delays and complications led her to take on the director's role as well.

Reflecting on the journey, she mentioned, "I just got so excited about the idea of taking this script that I loved so much and shaping it in the way that I saw it."

Kendrick hopes the film will highlight a stark reality: "More often than not, there is nothing you can do, no matter how smart you are, no matter how careful you are, to protect yourself from someone who wishes to harm you." ‘Woman of the Hour’ promises to be a gripping exploration of this unsettling true story.
