Anne Hathaway & Josh Hartnett Seen Smiling on Set of Colleen Hoover’s ‘Verity’ in NYC

The psychological thriller ‘Verity’, which is based on Colleen Hoover’s best-selling book, has officially started filming with Anne Hathaway and Josh Hartnett.  Hartnett, 46, portrays her husband, Jeremy Crawford, while Hathaway, 42, plays novelist Verity Crawford.

The on-screen duo, wearing semi-formal clothing, can be seen sprinting around the streets of New York City while holding hands in recently taken set images.  Hathaway holds her possessions in her free hand while Hartnett leads the way, his undone bow tie dangling from the collar of his button-down shirt.

In November 2024, Hathaway was cast as Verity, and in December, Hartnett was added to the production.  In addition to playing the role of Lowen, Dakota Johnson is an executive producer on the movie.  After a mysterious accident prevents the author from continuing her work, Lowen, a struggling writer, is offered the chance to finish ‘Verity’s popular book series.

The book, which Lowen first self-published in 2018, tells the story of how she finds a buried, incomplete manuscript at the Crawford house.  She is forced to consider whether Verity’s writings are merely fiction or something far darker as a result of the startling disclosures in the manuscript, which cause her to doubt both her safety and her profession.

Michael Showalter, who previously collaborated with Hathaway on ‘The Idea of You’, is directing the movie.  Although ‘Verity’ will be released in theatres, the exact date of its launch has not yet been disclosed.
