Anne Hathaway Set to Star in Upcoming Colleen Hoover Adaptation

One of Colleen Hoover’s best-selling books, ‘Verity’, will be adapted into a movie with Anne Hathaway in the starring role. In addition to Hoover, the Oscar-winning actress will produce the picture.

The story of Lowen Ashleigh, a failing writer, who accepts an alluring job offer to finish a popular book series for Verity Crawford, a well-known novelist unable to continue her work following a mysterious accident, is told in the 2018 bestseller thriller ‘Verity’. When Lowen moves into the Crawfords’ opulent mansion, she finds a secret book that holds unsettling information about the family’s history. As Lowen grows close to Verity’s husband, Jeremy, and their small son, tensions increase, leading her to wonder if the manuscript is a terrifying confession or a work of fiction.

Michael Showalter, who previously directed Hathaway in ‘The Idea of You’, another literary adaption that came out earlier this year, is back with her in the film.

With the adaptation of her books to the big screen, Colleen Hoover has witnessed increasing success. ‘It Ends with Us’, her first adaption, debuted in August and did well at the box office, starring Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. ‘Reminders of Him’, which will be released in February 2026, and ‘Regretting You’, starring Allison Williams, Mckenna Grace, and Dave Franco, are two more forthcoming adaptations.

Apart from ‘Verity’, Hathaway is working on a number of intriguing projects, such as a potential follow-up to ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ and a third ‘Princess Diaries’ film.
