Anya Taylor-Joy Aims to Challenge Herself With a Musical Role: Disney Princess Dream Revealed

Following her intense role in ‘Furiosa: Mad Max Saga’, Anya Taylor-Joy is eager to explore lighter fare. In a recent interview with Vogue Hong Kong, the actress expressed her desire to take on a musical role, revealing her interest in embodying a beloved Disney princess.

“I really want to do a musical because I’m a little too obsessed with my current job,” Taylor-Joy said. She’s excited by the prospect of blending singing, dancing, and acting, which she finds particularly appealing.

When discussing her dream role, Taylor-Joy mentioned Disney’s iconic ice princess, Elsa. “I think Frozen is going to be great. Shooting ice cubes out of your hands can be a lot of fun,” she remarked.

The actress also sees this role as an opportunity to impress her family. “All my siblings have kids now, so I would love for them to be able to say, ‘My aunt is Elsa.’ That would be great!” Taylor-Joy’s diverse acting skills, demonstrated in roles such as Furiosa and Beth Harmon in The Queen’s Gambit, position her well to bring Elsa to life.

While Disney has yet to confirm any plans for a live-action adaptation of the ‘Frozen ‘franchise, the studio is currently focused on the third and fourth animated instalments. 

The upcoming ‘Frozen III’ is set for release in 2027, with new artwork revealed at Disney’s D23 Fan Event, showcasing Anna and Elsa.
