Ariana Grande Has Revealed Her Decision to Focus on Acting for the Next Decade

Ariana Grande has shared her decision to concentrate on acting for the coming decade. The singer and actress recently appeared on the Las Culturistas podcast with hosts Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers, where she opened up about her 10-year career plan. Grande mentioned her interest in returning to Broadway someday, adding that she was going to say something so scary, that it’s going to scare the absolute s**t out of her fans and everyone.

Grande assured fans that she loved them and believed they would adapt, emphasizing that they’d always be connected. She said that she’d continue making music, performing on stage, and creating pop hits, promising that aspect of her career wasn’t going away. However, she explained that maintaining the same intense pace she had over the past decade wasn’t part of her vision for the next 10 years.

She went on to say that acting, especially musical theater, had a special place in her heart. She shared that reconnecting with this creative side, particularly through comedy, was fulfilling and therapeutic, and that she felt drawn to roles that allowed her to express these parts of herself.

The singer is set to star in Wicked as Glinda, alongside Cynthia Erivo’s Elphaba, in a movie musical directed by Jon M. Chu, known for In the Heights and Crazy Rich Asians. Jonathan Bailey and Jeff Goldblum will also appear as Fiyero and the Wizard of Oz, respectively.

Recently, Grande voiced her support for Erivo after she received criticism regarding fan-edited Wicked posters and AI-generated content. Grande also hosted a special screening of the new film for past actresses who have starred in Wicked on Broadway.

Wicked will be released in two parts, with the first set to premiere in theaters on 22nd November, and the second part scheduled for 21st November, 2025.
