Ariana Grande Says Goodbye to Glinda as She Unveils Auburn Hair for Brighter Days Ahead

Throughout the ‘Wicked’ press tour, Ariana Grande was well-known for her trademark Glinda blonde hairstyle, but she recently changed it up for her most recent project.
The 31-year-old singer and actress revealed her new hair color on Instagram along with behind-the-scenes pictures from the ‘Brighter Days Ahead’ movie shoot. Her hair now has a deeper auburn tone rather than the pale blonde she has been wearing. The deep color, worn in a sleek, side-parted high ponytail, adds a new dimension to her typical appearance.
Earlier this year, there were hints of this color shift. Grande sported a darker, updated version of her iconic look with hefty highlights at the 2025 Golden Globes. “The look is a warm auburn-brown base with contrasting highlights to create dimension,” said Rachel Bodt, her hair colorist.

The vivid red hair she wore during her Victorious days has been replaced by this auburn tone. Grande adopted her now-iconic ponytail and switched to more natural brown colors because repeated touch-ups at the time caused serious harm. In a prior reflection, she said that although she adored her red-haired Victorious period, it was a character-driven image rather than her own self.
Grande’s recent auburn makeover marks the beginning of a new era as she embarks on artistic endeavors outside of ‘Wicked’.
