Arunaja Makes Her Landing with An Empowering New Anthem ‘Cyanide’

The Kerala-born musician, Arunaja, recently arrived onboard with the fresh single, “Cyanide”. Since the whirlwind of fame that met her during her stint on 2016’s edition of The Stage, Arunaja has simply blossomed as an artist.

Now, “Cyanide” was crafted in league with  Stockholm-based producer, BlueNucleus. The tune opens with a string of ambient sounds and tinkling production elements, providing the perfect landing spot for the star’s vocals. What follows are Arunaja’s dreamy melodies that boast of her impressive range. Sprinkled with pretty runs and some flawless falsettos, Arunaja once again proves why she’s one of the fastest rising stars in the independent music scene.

It’s worth noting that the songwriting on this empowering anthem is simple yet effective. We hear the young star sing,

We’ve been through this lane
We’ve been through the rain
This is where we remain…
I’d try but rather just die
Before my heart turns
To cyanide

Now, this marks Arunaja and producer, BlueNucleus’ second project together. They first connected over the rework of ‘Zara Zara,’ originally composed by Harris Jayaraj for the Bollywood film “Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein”.

The Formation of ‘Cyanide’

Speaking of the track, Arunaja previously explained that the song captures ideas of perseverance, despite all odds. Interestingly, the artist penned down this track during a train journey. She was hoping to find a strong hook word and as soon as “Cyanide” came to mind, the rest of the track grew its roots from that one focal point.

Further, the young star also touched upon her experience during this global pandemic. In our latest edition of Xperience Sessions, Arunaja confessed that this quarantine period helped her gain focus. Working remotely does have its perks, she pointed out. By investing in equipment, Arunaja had the freedom to record her music and to shoot her videos all from home. Labeling this a “learning process” the star still admitted to enjoying the independence that it brought her.

So, without further ado, here’s “Cyanide” from the rising star, Arunaja.
