Babyface gave the section’s introduction while reflecting on Combs’ accomplishments. The hallmark of a great producer, according to him, is that they “make you feel like you can do anything and go anywhere.” Ye, whose face was concealed by a mask, sunglasses and a baseball cap, was then brought out by Babyface.

Combs was then invited on stage by Ye and Babyface to accept the trophy. He promised to provide $1 million to Howard University and another $1 million to Jackson State University’s football team under coach Deoin Sanders during his address.

Combs included his mother, who was present, in the list of those he thanked. Additionally, he paid tribute to numerous others who had passed away recently, including Andre Harrell and Combs’ ex-girlfriend Kim Porter, who passed away in 2018.

Combs performed a wide-ranging medley of songs with The LOX, Lil’ Kim, Faith Evans, and more before Babyface and Ye gave their addresses. These songs included ‘It’s All About the Benjamins,’ ‘I’ll Be Missing You,’ his most recent Bryson Tiller collaboration, ‘Gotta Move,’ and more.
