Bae Suzy to Release New Music After 4 Years
Bae Suzy, a singer, and actress will make a comeback in the K-pop market with her new digital song ‘Satellite’. Management Soop, the singer’s agency, said on Thursday that Bae will release new songs, four years after her second mini-album ‘Faces of Love’ was published in 2018. Kang Hyun-min, the singer and producer behind the new track for which Bae authored the lyrics, is the primary creator.
“Satellite’ has a very different atmosphere than her previous song and will introduce Suzy’s side as a singer,” the agency said in a statement. “In her lyrics, Suzy conveyed her longing for something out of reach and her sense of emptiness.”
On February 17, at 6 p.m., ‘Satellite’ will be available on various streaming platforms. In 2010, Bae made her debut as a member of Miss A, a four-pieced K-pop girl group, with the song “Bad Girl Good Girl.” As JYP Entertainment’s first girl group since Wonder Girls, the group soared to fame quickly and has since released a string of singles, including ‘Breathe’ (2010), ‘Touch’ (2012), and ‘Hush’ (2013).
She got into acting in 2011 when she landed a starring part in the KBS teen drama “Dream High.” She has built a good acting career since then, starring in a variety of TV shows and films, including the 2016 melodrama series ‘Uncontrollably Fond’ and the 2019 action thriller ‘Ashfall.’ The singer-actor is also going to star in the upcoming original series ‘Anna’ on Coupang Play, a local streaming platform.
