‘Bakugan’: This Popular Anime Series is the Next to Receive a Live-Action Movie Adaptation

Anime live-action adaptations can be surprising, but there is always a buzz about a new project. According to Deadline, the popular franchise ‘Bakugan’ is receiving the live-action treatment this time. The company that created ‘Unicorn Academy’ and ‘PAW Patrol’, Spin Master Entertainment, is the one behind the adaptation.

It’s astonishing how long it took Hollywood to release ‘Bakugan’ on the big screen considering how well-liked it is. The property already has a devoted following thanks to its billion-dollar toy line, more than 300 anime episodes, and popular card games. Director, screenwriter, and producer Brad Peyton (‘Rampage’) is in charge of the movie. Peyton was enthusiastic about the project, describing it as an ambitious undertaking and an opportunity to produce a significant motion picture event.

‘Bakugan’ fans should feel secure knowing that Spin Master Entertainment is dedicated to upholding the franchise’s heritage. The company’s president, Jennifer Dodge, praised the series’ loyal following and underlined their intention to grow the franchise while reaching new viewers.

With a number of live-action adaptations in the works, anime lovers are living in an exciting time. Shinsuke Sato (‘Alice in Borderland’) is directing ‘My Hero Academia’, and Justin Lin (‘Fast & Furious’) and Dan Harmon (‘Community’) are working on ‘One Punch Man’. The ‘Naruto’ adaptation, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton (‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’), is one of the most eagerly awaited projects.

Apart from brand-new films, follow-ups to already-existing adaptations are also being developed. ‘Pokémon Detective Pikachu 2’ is now under development, and ‘One Piece Season 2’ just finished filming. In the meantime, OTT is reviving ‘Death Note’ as a live-action series, this time with the Duffer Brothers (‘Stranger Things’) directing.

The ‘Bakugan’ movie has not yet been released, but fans may watch all of the anime’s episodes on the ‘Bakugan’ YouTube account.
