Barack Obama Raps Eminem’s ‘Lose Yourself’ at Kamala Harris' Detroit Rally 

Barack Obama and Eminem surprised the crowd at a rally in Detroit, held to boost support for Vice President Kamala Harris. The event aimed to generate excitement around Harris' campaign ahead of the upcoming election. Eminem, who was born and raised in Michigan, introduced Obama before the former president delivered a memorable moment by rapping the first verse of ‘Lose Yourself’.

During his introduction, Eminem reflected on Michigan’s importance in the election, highlighting Detroit's significance in his life. He said this was a moment for Michigan to shine, emphasising the state's critical role in the national spotlight. After his brief remarks, he welcomed Obama on stage, energising the crowd.

Obama, addressing the audience, joked about following the Grammy-winning rapper, saying, "It feels some kind of way following Eminem." To connect with the audience, he playfully rapped the famous lines from Eminem's hit song: "Palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy, Mom's spaghetti." This light-hearted moment captivated the crowd.

Eminem used the occasion to stress the importance of voting, urging Americans to exercise their right in this crucial election. He emphasised that everyone’s opinion matters, especially in this significant political moment. The rapper praised Harris for defending essential rights, particularly freedom of speech.

He added that no one should fear expressing their opinions, saying, "I don't think anyone wants an America where people are worried about the retribution for speaking out." Eminem’s message resonated with the audience, reinforcing the importance of standing up for personal beliefs.

Concluding his speech, Eminem voiced his support for Kamala Harris, expressing confidence in her vision for America. He praised her commitment to protecting fundamental freedoms, stating, "Vice President Harris supports a future where these freedoms will be safeguarded."
