Barry Keoghan Opens Up About Deactivating Instagram After Sabrina Carpenter Split

After splitting with Sabrina Carpenter, Barry Keoghan recently publicly addressed the issue and deleted his Instagram account. Earlier in December, sources stated that the couple, who had been dating for around a year, had decided to take a break.

Keoghan said in a message posted on X (previously Twitter) that he stopped using social media because of the constant hostility and hate he encountered there. He disclosed that his name had been the subject of derogatory remarks against his parenting, character, and appearance and that even his family had been drawn into the controversy. The harassment, which he regarded as a major violation of boundaries, included his mother, grandmother, and even those who were threatening his two-year-old son, Brando, by loitering close to his house.

Keoghan highlighted how committed he is to being a solid, encouraging parent to Brando, whom he shares with his former partner, Alyson Sandro. He asked the audience to think about how his son would be affected by these damaging stories when he reads about his father when he gets older. In closing, Keoghan urged understanding and respect, especially for the sake of his kid.

According to a person close to Keoghan, he is doing well despite his personal struggles, staying strong and committed to his family and career. According to the insider, the actor was committed to their relationship during its course, and although the breakup with Carpenter was cordial, the rumours of adultery were completely baseless.

After making multiple public appearances together, including the 2024 Met Gala, the couple initially raised dating rumours in late 2023. Keoghan even made an appearance in Carpenter's song ‘Please, Please, Please’ music video. Throughout their relationship, Keoghan had praised Carpenter's commitment and work ethic, and the two had spoken well of one another.

With the recent completion of ‘The Immortal Man’ and the start of work on ‘Crime 101’, Keoghan has maintained a busy acting career. Carpenter is wrapping up the year with ‘A Nonsense Christmas’, her holiday effort on OTT.
